Texas Rangers Travel Guide: Globe Life Field

Getting to DFW & The Ballpark

Flying In: The DFW Metroplex has two large airports. Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) is a massive American Airlines hub located right between Dallas and Fort Worth, making it the most convenient option (about 14 miles north of the ballpark). Dallas Love Field (DAL) is closer to downtown Dallas (about 21 miles from the park) and is almost exclusively serviced by Southwest Airlines.
Airport Transit: The DFW area is heavily car-dependent and notoriously spread out. Public transportation to Arlington from either airport is essentially non-existent. You absolutely must rent a car or rely on Uber/Lyft to get to the stadium district.

Where to Stay

Globe Life Field is located in the massive Arlington Entertainment District, nestled right between AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys) and Six Flags Over Texas. Staying in Arlington offers pure convenience, while staying in Dallas or Fort Worth offers more city culture but requires a longer drive.

Hyatt Place Dallas/Arlington: Located perfectly within the Arlington Entertainment District, this modern hotel is less than two miles from the ballpark and a short walk to Six Flags. Six Flags Over Texas: Located right in the same entertainment district as the stadium, this massive, 212-acre theme park is the original Six Flags location and a perfect daytime excursion before a night game.
AT&T Stadium Tour: Even if it isn't football season, you can book a VIP guided tour of the Dallas Cowboys' massive, billion-dollar stadium right next door to Globe Life Field.

Pregame Food and Drink

The Epicenter: Texas Live! is a massive dining and entertainment complex located directly between Globe Life Field and AT&T Stadium. It is the undisputed pregame headquarters. Head to Sports & Social Arlington for a massive sports bar atmosphere, or ride the mechanical bull at PBR Texas.
Texas BBQ: If you want authentic craft barbecue, head a mile and a half southwest of the stadium to Hurtado Barbecue in downtown Arlington. Note: They often sell out of meat and close by 5:00 PM, so this is strictly an early pregame option.
Local Brews & Burgers: Next door to Hurtado is Division Brewing, a laid-back local brewery with great, reasonably priced beers. If you want a quick, classic burger, stop by Airways Hamburgers.
Tex-Mex Staples: If you are parking further north of the stadium, Pappasito's Cantina is a legendary DFW staple for massive plates of fajitas and strong margaritas.
The Dive Bar Shuttle: Head south of the ballpark to Grease Monkey Burger Shop and Social Club. It is a casual, car-themed bar with cheap drinks, great burgers, and a $5 shuttle that drops you right at the stadium gates.

Getting to the Event

Parking: Because Globe Life Field shares a massive footprint with AT&T Stadium, surface lots are everywhere. If the Rangers are the only team playing, parking is abundant but can be expensive. If the Cowboys happen to be playing at the same time, parking becomes an absolute nightmare, and you should rely on rideshare or local bar shuttles.
Walking: If you are staying at a hotel in the immediate Arlington Entertainment District (like Live! by Loews), the area features wide sidewalks and is incredibly easy to navigate on foot.

Where to Sit at Globe Life Field

Globe Life Field is a beautiful, brand-new, climate-controlled stadium, meaning you finally don't have to worry about the brutal Texas summer heat when picking your seats.

The Best Sightlines: Look for tickets in the lower-level Corner Boxes (Sections 1-4 and 22-25). These seats are angled perfectly toward the infield, giving you an excellent, comfortable sightline of the whole field without having to turn your head.
The Premium Experience: If you are willing to splurge, the Germania Insurance Lounge (Sections 5-7 on the third-base side) offers incredible views, in-seat wait service, and access to private, all-inclusive bars and concessions.
Away Fans: If you are cheering for the visiting team, look for Sections 8-9 (directly behind the visitor's dugout) or Sections 107-110 right above them for a slightly more affordable view that keeps you close to your team.
The Budget Seats: Look for tickets in the 300-level (Sections 313-315). These upper-deck seats directly behind home plate offer a fantastic, sweeping overhead view of the field for a fraction of the price of the lower bowl.
