Getting to Anaheim & The Ballpark

• Flying In: You have two main options. John Wayne Airport (SNA) is only 13 miles from the stadium, much smaller, and infinitely easier to navigate. It is heavily serviced by Southwest, United, and American. Los Angeles International (LAX) is about 40 miles away. While it offers more flight options and often cheaper fares, the LA traffic to Anaheim can turn that 40 miles into a multi-hour nightmare. LAX is best if you are also planning to visit Dodger Stadium on your trip.

• Public Transit: The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) sits literally at the edge of the Angel Stadium parking lot. If you are staying in downtown LA, you can take the Metrolink or Amtrak directly to ARTIC and walk straight to the game. Tip: Look into the Angels Express train, which offers discounted fares and special schedules on game days.

• Parking: Angel Stadium is surrounded by massive surface lots (shared with the nearby Honda Center) and right off the freeway. Because it is so spread out, walking from outside the immediate area is difficult, but parking is a breeze. The lots rarely fill up, it is very affordable compared to other MLB parks, and getting in and out is usually stress-free.

Anaheim is dominated by the Disneyland Resort, located just 3 miles from Angel Stadium. Combining the two makes for the ultimate family vacation. We have broken down the hotel options below based on whether you want to be right next to the ballpark or closer to the theme parks.

Budget Options

• Ayres Hotel Anaheim: This is one of the very few hotels that is actually walkable to Angel Stadium (about a 10-minute walk). It has a simple, boutique feel with an outdoor heated pool and a lobby fireplace. It is perfect if you want to avoid the chaotic Disneyland crowds and focus on baseball. It offers free daily breakfast and a weekday happy hour, plus a shuttle to Disneyland if you still want to visit the park.

• Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort - Convention Center: The ultimate budget option for families doing both baseball and Disney. Located less than a mile from Disneyland and 3 miles from the stadium, it features a large pool, a basketball court, and a putting green. The rooms feature full kitchens (plus bunk bed options for kids), and the hotel offers free hot breakfast and weekday evening socials.

Higher-End Options

• Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa: If you are splurging on a Disney/baseball crossover trip, this is the absolute pinnacle. This stunning, lodge-style luxury hotel features a private entrance directly into Disney California Adventure Park. It boasts three pools, character dining, and incredibly immersive rooms. It is expensive and about a 10-minute drive to Angel Stadium, but it is the perfect luxury stay for families with young children.

• Hyatt Regency Orange County: Located south of Disneyland near the Convention Center, this hotel offers a resort feel in an urban setting. It features two pools, an activity deck (basketball, ping pong, shuffleboard), and evening fire pits for s'mores. It is a quick 2.5-mile drive/rideshare to the stadium and offers a free shuttle to Disneyland. At just 12,000 World of Hyatt points per night, it is an incredible redemption value.

Nearby Activities

• The Disneyland Resort: The undisputed heavyweight of Anaheim attractions. With two massive theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure) located just 3 miles from the stadium, you can easily spend your mornings riding Space Mountain before heading to a night game.

• Anaheim Packing District: Located a few miles north of the stadium, this restored historic citrus packing house is now a massive, two-story upscale food hall. It is packed with incredible local vendors, craft cocktail bars, and live music, making it the perfect spot for a diverse lunch before heading to the ballpark.

Pregame Food and Drink

While the immediate footprint around the stadium is mostly parking lots and business parks, there is a fantastic micro-brewery scene right on the south side of the stadium.

• The Brewery Scene: Golden Road Brewing Anaheim is the go-to spot for a casual, local vibe with huge open areas, bar games, and fantastic craft beer. Karl Strauss Brewing Company offers a more classic, dimly lit pub feel with excellent American food. Both are packed with Angels fans before and after games.

• Quick Bites: If you are coming from the ARTIC train station on the northwest side of the stadium, you can grab a fast, healthy seafood bowl at Bay Poke, or sit down on the outdoor patio at Zov's for modern Mediterranean food.

Where to Sit at Angel Stadium

• The Best Views: The signature feature of Angel Stadium is the massive "California Spectacular" rock formation and geyser in center field, which erupts after every Angels home run. Sitting anywhere behind home plate gives you a perfect view of the rocks.

• The 200-Level Value: Angel Stadium has a unique two-tiered lower bowl. The 200-level sections are still considered the lower level, but they are elevated slightly higher and are significantly cheaper than the 100-level seats right on the dirt.

• Away Fans: If you are cheering for the visiting team, grab seats in Sections 125-126 or Sections 223-225. These seats are directly behind the visitor's dugout on the first-base side and offer some of the best sightlines in the park.

• The Ultimate Budget Hack: Buy the absolute cheapest 400 or 500-level ticket you can find just to get into the stadium. Then, head straight to the Brewery X Biergarten in right field. If you make a reservation (up to 5 days in advance), you can spend the entire game sitting at a table or bar rail with full wait service, enjoying incredible views of the field for the price of a nosebleed ticket.
