How to Get There
Flying In: Houston has two massive airports. George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is a massive global hub for United Airlines and sits roughly 25 miles north of downtown. William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is located about 11 miles southeast of downtown and serves as a major hub for Southwest Airlines.
Airport Transit: Houston is notoriously massive, spread out, and car-dependent. Renting a car at the airport or heavily relying on rideshares is your best bet for navigating the metroplex. However, once you are in the city center, you can completely skip stadium parking by using the city's light rail system.
Where to Stay
Reliant Stadium sits inside NRG Park on the southern edge of the city. You can choose to stay right next to the stadium complex near the Texas Medical Center, or stay a few miles away in the trendy Uptown/Galleria district to enjoy world-class shopping and dining.

Comfort Suites Houston near Medical Center - NRG Stadium: This is a major fan favorite for pure stadium proximity. It features exceptionally clean rooms, friendly staff, a free daily hot breakfast, and an incredibly easy walk or short rideshare to the stadium gates on game day.

Pregame Food and Drink
Houston is world-famous for its massive, high-energy parking lot barbecue tailgates, making the stadium footprint the place to be before kickoff.
The BULLevard: Located right outside the stadium gates, this official pregame zone is an absolute must-visit. It features the Bud Light DJ Stage for live music, interactive fan games, and the Coca-Cola Ice House—a massive gathering of local food trucks and cold drinks.
The Parking Lot Tailgates: The expansive surface lots surrounding NRG Stadium are legendary. Texans fans go all out with custom smokers, tents, and music. The local fan community is famously welcoming, so grab some local craft beer and wander the lots to experience authentic Texas hospitality.
The Local Sports Bars: If you want to escape the heat or rain, head around the corner to Red River Ice House. Located just off the South Loop near the stadium, it is a high-energy bar featuring great craft beers on tap, plenty of screens, and a massive dog-friendly outdoor patio.
Getting to the Event
Public Transit (METRORail): This is the absolute best way to beat game-day traffic. The METRORail Red Line runs directly from downtown through the Medical Center and drops you off right at the NRG Park Station on Fannin for just $1.25 each way.
Driving: If you choose to drive or rent a car, the stadium features an expansive network of color-coded surface parking lots (Blue, Orange, Green, etc.). You absolutely must pre-purchase your parking pass online, as passes are not sold at the gates and traffic along Kirby Drive and the South Loop bottlenecks heavily.
Rideshare: There is a highly organized, dedicated Uber and Lyft pick-up and drop-off zone located in the Brown Lot off Main Street and Murworth.
Where to Sit at NRG Stadium
Visiting Fans: Away fans looking for a great lower-bowl view should target Sections 125-128 directly behind the visitor's sideline. Sticking to rows S and higher will give you the best viewpoint to see cleanly over the players and media gear on the sideline.
The Premium Experience: If you want an upscale day, look for tickets in Sections 336-339. These premium club seats offer some of the best elevated sightlines in the stadium, private entrances, in-seat wait service, and access to climate-controlled lounges featuring live pregame and halftime music.
The Luxury Buffet Move: For maximum indoor comfort, check out the 700-level Club options. While these sections sit at the very top of the stadium above the end zones, they include a VIP entrance, massive luxury lounges, and a complimentary, high-end buffet.
The Best Value: The absolute best bang for your buck can be found in the 500s level, specifically sideline Sections 533-536. These unique sections only contain 8 rows, meaning you face very light fan traffic and can get to concessions easily, while the physical overhang of the deck provides an exceptional view of the field.
The Loud fan Atmosphere: If you want a raucous, passionate environment, buy tickets in the "Bull Pen" (Sections 116-117). This is home to the most die-hard Texans fans and sits directly in front of a giant end zone party deck that features live pregame music and heavy socializing.
The Budget Seats: The 600-level sideline offers the cheapest traditional tickets. End zone seats at the very top can feel incredibly far from the action, so it is highly recommended to pay a little bit extra to secure a ticket within the first 10 rows of a sideline section.
