Baltimore Orioles Travel Guide: Camden Yards

Getting to Baltimore & The Ballpark

  • Flying In: Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is heavily serviced by Southwest and Spirit. It is only about 10 miles from Camden Yards.

  • Airport Transit: You can take a 30-minute light rail ride from BWI directly to the Convention Center stop, or take a quick Uber/Lyft into downtown.

  • Alternate Airports: If you want to tie in a Washington D.C. trip or find cheaper fares, look into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) or Washington Dulles (IAD), which are 42 and 60 miles away, respectively.

  • Traveling by Train: The Northeast Corridor makes rail travel incredibly easy. Amtrak and regional trains arrive at Pennsylvania Station, just two miles north of Camden Yards. You can easily catch the light rail from Penn Station straight to the ballpark.

  • Parking: The Orioles operate several official lots, and downtown Baltimore has massive parking capacity. Because Camden Yards shares a massive footprint with M&T Bank Stadium (home of the Ravens), there is an abundance of parking intended for 70,000-seat football games that is incredibly easy to utilize for baseball.

Where to Stay

Because Camden Yards is centrally located just south of downtown and walking distance to the famous Inner Harbor, you have fantastic options that put you right in the center of the action.

Budget Options

  • Staybridge Suites Baltimore - Inner Harbor: An excellent choice for families or groups needing extra space. Located two blocks from the harbor and about a mile from the park, this all-suite hotel features full kitchens, free daily breakfast, and a complimentary evening social hour (Monday–Wednesday).

  • Hampton Inn Baltimore-Downtown-Convention Center: You cannot beat this location. It is directly across the street from Camden Yards, meaning you can walk out the front door and right into the stadium gates. It features comfortable, clean rooms, an indoor pool, and a free hot breakfast.

Higher-End Options

  • Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore: The premier luxury option in the city. Located about 1.5 miles from the stadium, it features an incredible rooftop pool overlooking the harbor, a five-star spa, and three on-site restaurants. It is perfect if you want a true resort experience while staying in an urban setting.

  • Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor: Located just a couple of blocks from Camden Yards, this stylish hotel bridges the gap between luxury and convenience. It features a sixth-floor outdoor pool deck overlooking the water and offers tech-savvy rooms that are perfect for modern travelers.

Pregame Food and Drink

  • The Legendary Block Party: Pickles Pub is an absolute must-visit. Located right across the street from the ballpark, the pub hosts a massive pregame party that spills out into the street. It gets incredibly crowded, so grab food from the surrounding street vendors while you enjoy your drinks.

  • Closest to the Action: Right next to Pickles is Sliders Bar and Grille. Sitting just 771 feet from home plate, they claim to be the friendliest sports bar in Baltimore and offer a slightly less chaotic—but still incredibly fun—atmosphere.

  • Quiet & Relaxed: The Yard Sports Bar and Grille (inside the nearby Baltimore Marriott) offers a sit-down dining experience with plenty of TVs, perfect if you want to escape the massive crowds.

  • Seafood & Quick Bites: If you are staying near the water, hit up Phillips Seafood for their signature Maryland crab cakes. For a quick, healthier grab-and-go option near the stadium, stop by Cosi for sandwiches and flatbreads.

Where to Sit at Camden Yards

Even with the Orioles' recent resurgence into a powerhouse team, Camden Yards remains highly accessible, allowing fans to find great deals in one of baseball's most historic venues.

  • Catch a Home Run: The lower-level sections in left field are incredibly homer-friendly and generally cheaper than the lower bowl seats behind home plate.

  • The Best Budget Seats: Take advantage of the stadium's unique architecture by sitting in Sections 332-340. This upper deck actually hangs down over the lower bowl, meaning these cheap seats put you surprisingly close to the field compared to upper decks in other cities.

  • Away Fans & The Best Views: Grab tickets in Sections 48, 50, or 52. These seats are right behind the visitor's dugout on the third-base line. Not only are you close to your team, but you also get the absolute best view of the iconic B&O Warehouse on Eutaw Street and the downtown skyline looming over center field.
